Morning Frost

Camp Hale, White River National Forest, Colorado

Morning frost clings to a leaf along the banks of the Eagle River in Camp Hale above Leadville, Colorado. This location was used during World War II to train the Tenth Mountain Division, the US Army’s first and only mountain infantry division.

This image was photographed in support of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy (CORE) Act, legislation to protect 400,000 acres of public lands in Colorado.
