Fallen Aspen Leaves
Gunnison National Forest, Colorado
In Colorado’s West Elk Mountains, the largest aspen grove in the state, and arguably one of the largest living organisms on the planet, wraps the earth in a blanket of leaves. The proposed Colorado Outdoor Recreation and Economy (CORE) Act would protect this square foot along with another 400,000 acres of public lands against oil, gas, and mining development.
